Firewood Value Comparison
Buying Logs in Crates vs Boxes or Big Bags
The cheapest method of getting Ready To Burn wood fuel is to buy some stacked wood fuel in crates that are tightly packed. Although builder’s bags look as if they provide excellent value, they are loosely filled and therefore contain a lot of space and air, whereas our fuel is always compactly packed.
Builders’ bags are often full of seasoned logs with a water content that is higher than kiln dried logs, which increases the bag’s weight but reduces the wood’s burn quality, so you pay for more water and less wood. Worse still, they are poorer quality logs.
If you are ordering firewood in boxes, each of the cardboard boxes will be 8 -10 kg on average, equivalent to a standard 22l bag.
If you take a look at our comparison, it shows the crate equivalent to box volumes. Boxed firewood may look like the best option handling wise, but having such comfort costs. So take a look at our bagged firewood products instead. We offer 40 or 80 nets pallets – an excellent option if you need to handle the volume after the delivery’s been made.
