Woodsure Ready To Burn
DEFRA has announced a ban on selling wet firewood with a moisture content over 20% in the UK, effective February 2021 for quantities under 2 cubic meters, and a ban on the most polluting house coal starting in 2023.
Firewood suppliers are now required to be environmentally responsible and may only offer wood with moisture levels below 20%. To reach this standard, firewood that isn’t kiln-dried must be naturally seasoned for at least two years to drop to 20% moisture or less.
At Buy Firewood Direct, all our logs are kiln-dried, contain less than 20% moisture, and are certified under the Woodsure Ready to Burn scheme. They are regularly checked and approved by the Forestry Commission to ensure quality and compliance.
Why take chances elsewhere when you can purchase certified, kiln-dried, Woodsure Ready to Burn firewood directly from us?
Some media sources have mistakenly claimed DEFRA is banning wood-burning stoves. This is incorrect. The new regulations only target the moisture content in wood burned in stoves, not the stoves themselves.
Our kiln-dried logs meet every regulatory requirement, and we’re proud to be an approved Woodsure Ready to Burn wood supplier. You’ll find us as Member WS337 on the official Woodsure website.
Every batch of our kiln-dried logs and heat logs is fully certified within the Woodsure Ready to Burn program.
